What happens when you give a boyish geeky russian director a couple of million dollars, Angelina Jolie, a runty Scottish man and a creative license... you get Wanted, at a cinema near you this weekend.
Its a half serious, half tongue in cheek action adventure, with a fairly unbelievable protagonist cast with a suprisingly pretty lead lady, in what swings from entertaining, to embarrassing and back again, leaving us at the end happy but a little dirty, like we got value for our admission money, but also like when your granny snatches a grab of your package at a family meet n greet. Your smiling but your not really that happy. Thats what it kinda felt like.
Watch the trailer for a good insight into how this film can be very very cheesy with extra corn (corny). The finale will make you wince a little, with the little assassins and in in fact the whole plot when you think about it makes you sigh.
But thoroughly watchable, good special effects and glimpse of AJ's pretty posterior thrown in for good measure.
5 star cheese, 3 star effort overall.
