Bee movie is another animation release hot on the heels of Ratatouille, but brings its ‘A’ game, where the gags are concerned.

It could be described as somewhere between a Seinfeld sitcom episode meets Shrek. Cute likeable and funny characters, some barbed wise cracking aimed at current topical events with references to some old classic films thrown into the mix.

Based on the Ian McEwan novel of the same name, Atonement is a beautifully crafted work underpinned by superior direction, acting, score and cinematography. However it is somewhat let down by the story.

Offbeat comedy set in suburban North America, about pregnant teen played by Ellen Page of Hard Candy fame, co-stars Jason Bateman and Michael Cera, father and son team from Arrested Development; borrows a little from High Fidelity and Little Miss Sunshine, but fortunately pulls it off.

This film delivers on the big screen. The experience starts with epilepsy pre-warnings as you file through the foyer, followed by vertigo inducing shaky camera angles, nerve tingling bass from the sub woofers, adrenalin fuelled action and unbridled destruction of the Manhattan skyline.
