Have you got Scientology?

Whats in Ron Hubbard’s Cupboard?
Scientology was founded by Ron Hubbard, who is on record as saying, “if you want to make a lot of money start your own religion”. And indeed he did just that, the entry fee is rumoured to be up to €360,000. So what’s in Ron Hubbard’s cupboard? I would say a lot of hard green cash (if he was still alive)!

I remember watching Tom Cruise on Oprah Winfrey in an appearance before the infamous sofa jumping incident and I swear he had faint red dribble marks coming from the corners of his mouth. Either TC is a big fan of chugging tomato juice frat boy style before TV appearances or he is a lunatic who drinks blood. Well of course the latter is just speculation but either way it was slightly off putting.
So what has Tom Cruise got to do with Scientology? Well apparently he is the most famous member, starring recently in a Youtube video release which to say the least was bizarre.

He speaks of an ability to ‘help people’ and cites the example of passing a car crash, he would have to stop because he is like the only one ‘THAT CAN REALLY’ help (delivered like a Top Gun line).
So let me get this straight Mr Cruise, If my car strays of the Stillorgan Dual Carriageway, I should pray that you happen to be in the vicinity and in fact happen to be passing by, because you are the only one that can really help after all, also I should refuse expert onsite medical attention from trained paramedics and rather go back to your place for a rehabilitative non-stop week long personality test, deprogramming and financial audit while I bleed to death?
Well it sounds inviting but I think I will take my chances and go to hospital.
On the 24 of January, ‘Anonymous’ the Internet based freedom of speech and human rights organisation declared their intention to combat the activities of the Church of Scientology.

On studying their press release the organisation appears to be an underground collective linked by Internet with a technical skill-set that is used to target and disrupt the online censorship operations of the church and generally undermine their name.
To follow the 24/01 press release a demonstration was organised to take place outside the Scientology centre on Abbey Street 10 February.
I passed by and have to say I was impressed with not only the organisation but the general fanfare of what looked like late teens and college types. Participants were decked out in masks, hoodies, scarves, MMA merchandise and looked like they might be on their way to G8 rally.
Impressive too they were more organised than the fundraising mafia usually found on
It just seemed a bit inappropriate to hold a demo on Sunday at
